At first, it was just clicking and then it started to hurt. For 2 days now, I have been trying to deal with not being able to bend my right thumb. I have come to realize the importance of thumbs.
These are the things that I realize I needed my thumb for:-
- hit the space bar on my key board;
- button my coat, pants, shirt;
- hold my hairbrush;
- hold a glass of water single handed;
- turn my key;
- pop open the shampoo bottle;
- hold chopsticks;
- sign my name or write with a pen (which hinders my shopping with a credit card);
Luckily, I am ambidextrous and I can use my left hand for most things, I have to wear a splint for a few more days but this incident really make me appreciate my thumbs.
